Irish bouzouki, “La Peregrina” – SOLD

Brand new Irish bouzouki with a torrefied (heat-treated for stability, much less moisture absorption, and a more aged-in sound) Sitka spruce top, stunning Central American bocote back and sides.  Abalone purfling inside an edge binding of lacewood,  reclaimed Brazilian rosewood bridge and fretboard edged with ebony and figured maple.  Unique tailpiece also made from reclaimed Brazilian Rosewood sandwiching brass, designed for quick and easy string changes.  The tailpiece absorbs strings tension, relieving stress on the top and allows for lighter, more responsive bracing and greater stability.  Moveable saddle for precise intonation adjustments, adjustable truss rod and unique neck angle adjustment for easy playability. The hand designed and applied scallop shell inlay on the head in pearl / faux malachite represents the Camino guide posts to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, shrine of St. James – a tribute to my love for Galacian music.   I have named this instrument La Peregrina (“The pilgrim”).

Total length 37″; body 13 5/8 x 14 1/4; depth 3 1/2. neck at nut 1 7/16…18 frets to body and 22 total.
